Jacques Payette March 31st - April 19th, 2012 in Toronto
Jacques Payette was born in Montreal in 1951. A self-taught artist, Payette began exhibiting in Montreal in the early 70's and throughout Canada in subsequent years.

Painting the world around him, Payette's gentle vision has evolved into a deeply personal and identifiable style. Subject matter includes figures- his wife or daughters, the landscape and still life objects. In every composition, the mood is quiet and dreamy. Using the encaustic technique, the subjects are formed by rich layers of transparent color.
