Bronze sculptor Leo Mol dies at 94, remembered for his passion for art.

WINNIPEG — Renowned sculptor Leo Mol, whose bronze statues have earned a distinguished place on Parliament Hill, in Vatican museums and in his beloved home of Winnipeg, has died. He was 94.

The Passing of Leo Mol (1915-2009)

It is with great sadness that the Loch Gallery announces the passing of our artist, Leo Mol on July 4, 2009 in Winnipeg at age 94. Leo Mol’s work included paintings, porcelain figurines and stained glass, but it was his bronze sculptures that earned him a distinguished place on Parliament Hill, in Vatican museums, Embassy Row in Wahington D.C. and in his beloved home of Winnipeg.

Record Price Paid for Ivan Eyre

Business leader Hartley Richardson hopes to put his company's newly acquired Ivan Eyre painting on display in Winnipeg. Richardson's longtime dealer, David Loch, purchased the piece for $255,000, more than three times the estimated price. Richardson emphasized that the purchase was made not on his behalf but for the corporate collection of his family-run business.
