Biography

Denise Ireland has been painting and exhibiting professionally since 1971. Working in every graphic medium and genre, the artist is best known for her landscapes of the Ontario countryside and lakes and for her still life paintings.

Her most recent exhibition of new still life paintings continues to convey the artist’s profound understanding of natural beauty and her passion for it. Working directly from small (even tiny) floral arrangements, Ireland abstracts and builds large-scale compositions of lush delicately hued colour and free painterly brushwork. Mastery of her medium combined with formal strength and content absorbs the viewer’s attention and creates a new interactive experience.
