Biography
P.J Crook was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in 1945 where she still lives today. Graduating from Gloucestershire College of Art in 1965, Crook has since had numerous group and solo shows in London, New York, Paris and now Toronto.Crook’s paintings are immediately recognizable by their painted frames. Her images spill out from the canvas or board and onto the wooden frames, pulling the viewer into Crook’s imagined world. Working from her memories and subconscious, Crook never plans her pictures and starts with a little idea of which will ultimately evolve into the finished product.
