Karl Schantz

US-born Karl Schantz worked as the studio master in the School of Arts and Crafts at Sheridan College, Toronto, at one time with the acclaimed artist Robert Held. Hallmarks of his glass artistry include a treatment that privileges form over function, celebrating the architectural potential of the medium. Evident in his work are far-reaching influences such as modern and contemporary art movements, and the architecture of ancient cultures. Schantz currently lives and works in Toronto.
